There are now so many teaching resources available online that it can be hard for busy teachers to find quality resources that are age appropriate, accurate and reliable. I know first hand how important it can be to find good videos and animations that will support teaching and learning, especially for younger children in the Primary age range, and how frustrating it is to find material that is not linked to the curriculum, badly written and edited and with inaccurate or outdated content. It has been very rewarding therefore to branch out into the world of educational media production as a consultant on several projects and commissions.

Experience

I have worked as an education consultant for several independent media producers who had been commissioned to produce specific media resources for BBC Teach and BBC Own It. Work included support with pitching, concept development, clarification of educational content, script development and editing, feedback on rough cuts and answering educational content queries from the client.
I have also worked directly with BBC Bitesize and BBC Own It, providing consultancy that included the audit and review of current resources, identification of gaps in provision, and suggestions for new commissions.
I have written extensive pupil guidance resources for Primary Computing that have been published online as part of the BBC Bitesize educational offer. I have also written Teacher Notes to support Online Safety media (video and written guides) for BBC Own It content.
I can work to very short deadlines, and adapt quickly to changes in the brief, circumstances and personnel.
